General Post-op Instructions

  • Uncontrolled pain that will not go away.
  • Pain that continues to get worse instead of better.
  • Fever of more than 101.0°F (38.3°C).
  • Uncontrolled and persistent nausea or vomiting.
  • Excessive pain, bleeding, swelling, or redness around the incision site.
  • Signs of infection such as green/white and foul-smelling drainage from the incision.
  • No bowel movements or unable to pass gas for 2–3 days.
  • Watery diarrhea lasting longer than 2–3 days.
  • Beans
  • Bran and whole grain cereals
  • Peas
  • Dried fruit (apricots, figs, and dates)
  • Berries (raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries)
  • Sweet corn
