Robotic Cholecystectomy

Some of the procedures that can be performed are:

Open Cholecystectomy
Bile Duct Surgery
Robotic Cholecystectomy

An Open Cholecystectomy is a surgical procedure where the gallbladder is removed using an open surgical technique.

This surgical procedure is recommended for patients who require their gallbladder to be removed, but are not capable of having a minimally invasive procedure such as a laparoscopic or robotic approach.

Patients can take up to 3-4 weeks to fully recover from this procedure.

A Bile Duct Surgery is a surgical procedure where the bile duct is either opened to clear out stones, partially removed due to cancer or other diseases, or repaired due to injury.

This surgical procedure is recommended for patients who experience bile duct obstruction due to benign or malignant diseases, and are unable to have the obstruction relieved by non-surgical methods with endoscopy procedures by gastroenterology. If you have dark urine, yellow-colored skin or eyes, discomfort in the right section of your abdomen, and/or light-colored stools, you might be experiencing bile obstruction.

Bile duct surgery can be done by either a minimally invasive robotic approach or open surgery based on your condition and situation.

If you have a gallbladder attack or severe symptoms, we may may suggest surgery to remove your gallbladder. It’s an organ you can live without. Gallbladder removal is known as a cholecystectomy.

Gallbladder surgery can be done using open surgery (through one large incision) or minimally invasively (through a few small incisions or one belly button incision) using Da Vinci Robotic Surgery.
